You did an excellent job, I enjoyed listening to it very much. Nice job of adding some insight regarding players from the opposing teams…for instance, I think it was Belmont you pointed out lost their top player from last year to graduation. it was nice to get some insight like that.

BTW – can you tell me more regarding your buddy Mathias? What type of player is he? How does he see his role for the Griz this coming season? What I’m really curious about, how good is he, will he be an impact player for them?

    Thanks!

Mathias is a guy who is a true big in a 6’7″ body. Not quite the hard nosed guy Brockman was, but his skills are much more finesse. He has some excellent post moves and can use both hands real well, even has a nice jumper at the top of the key. If he was a bit taller he would have been a Pac-10 recruit.

Next year he hould see a fair amount of time, but coming off of his redshirt and mono he didn’t get all of the “seasoning” that the coaches would have liked, his year to jump on and make a big impact may be his RS sophomore year.

But at some point I see him being perhaps the best player on the team. He can do everything you want a big man to do. This is a guy who dropped 56 and 23 in a game, Give him some time to adjust to the college level and Montana has a great player.

Almost everyone considered Mathias a better player than Clarence for our high school team.

Thanks David, I appreciate that insight. I’ll look forward to watching him play.
